The UK’s leading home security and fenestration component provider, ERA, has renewed its partnership for a 12th consecutive year with Secured by Design (SBD), the UK’s official police security initiative. ERA, which has committed to another three years of SBD membership, enjoys a longstanding relationship with the initiative, which is owned by the Police Service, thanks to a shared commitment to helping people live safely within their communities.
SBD aims to achieve this goal by driving improvements in standards and independent testing for security products and working closely with developers, local authorities and housing associations to design out crime.
In extending its membership with SBD, ERA continues to demonstrate its commitment to providing customers with the highest standards of security, across its vast offering of smart and mechanical products.
Over 40 of ERA’s products boast SBD Police Preferred Specification accreditation, including its most recent smart door solution system, TouchKey. The accreditation offers independent verification and peace of mind to customers, who can feel assured that their home’s locks, hardware and mail delivery solutions meet the highest possible security standards.
Helen Downer, President of Tyman UK and Ireland, a division of the Tyman group that includes ERA, says: “We are happy to announce our 12th year of SBD membership. This reflects ERA’s continued commitment to helping people make the right choices when choosing home security solutions that will deliver maximum protection and peace of mind. As always, we continue to draw on our 185 plus years of security experience to bring innovative products to market that are tested to the most demanding of industry standards in order for customers to keep themselves safe in their homes.”
Hazel Goss MBE, Secured by Design, says: "It has been a pleasure to renew membership with ERA, Fab & Fix and Zoo ZOO Hardware who have been long standing members with SBD since 2012. They have an amazing range of locks and hardware for both residential and commercial markets, including smart locks which have achieved the Secured Connected Device Accreditation. I’m looking forward to many more years working alongside them.”
